pubcheck
Check citations against public publication indexes.
Data handling
- PubCheck does not use an LLM to decide citation results.
- Submitted files are not used for model training.
- PDF bytes may stay in server memory while the report remains available so the browser can display the source page.
- Citation identifiers and titles may be sent to public publication indexes. The manuscript file is not sent to those indexes.
- A local PubCheck server processes the manuscript file on your machine. Its default online mode still sends citation identifiers and titles to public lookup services.
pubcheck serve --offlineprevents outbound lookup calls. Without local publication snapshots, offline mode cannot verify records against public indexes.- Do not submit confidential unpublished files to pubcheck.net unless the journal has approved it.
